Highlights of some of the firm's recent and future events are listed below:
March 2012 – ALM conducted its annual IP Counsel Forum in San Jose. Michael Shimokaji spoke on the panel “Are Non-Practicing Entities (NPEs) Necessary for a Competitive Market”
March 2012 – Michael Shimokaji conducted a seminar for clients of the Small Business Development Center – Pacific Coast Regional (www.pcrsbdc.org). The topic was “Intellectual Property Fundamentals for the Start-Up”.
February 2012 – The firm participated in the annual National Institute of Health – SBIR Commercialization Program by reviewing business plan presentations of life science and medical device start-ups.
October 2011 – In Taiwan, Michael Shimokaji spoke to attendees from law firms and companies about the new USPTO Patent Prosecution Highway program between the US and Taiwan.
October 2011 – For the seminar “Funding the Big Idea” presented by Tri-Tech, a Small Business Development Center, the firm supported entrepreneurs through a sponsorship of the event in Riverside.
October 2011 – As part of its annual charitable giving, the firm again sponsored the Special Olympics – Annual Pier del Sol in Santa Monica.
October 2011 – For a firm get together, staff and attorneys met at Bowlmor for a day of bowling and food.
September 2011 – In Los Angeles, the firm was in attendance at the annual Intellectual Property Owners Association.
June 2011 – Staff and attorneys of the firm got together at K1 Speed for a day of fun racing go-karts and eating great food.
March 2011 – At the California Minority Counsel Program seminar in Los Angeles, Michael Shimokaji moderated a panel discussion on “Realities of Starting and Running a Small Law Firm in Today’s Environment. |
