How to use ®

Question: Can I use the registered trademark symbol “®” when designing a logo if I only registered the word mark?

I looked up my registered trademark and it mentions the following type:

Mark Drawing Code (4) STANDARD CHARACTER MARK

I don't believe we registered the design.

Answer: If you only registered the words, then you should use not use the circle R symbol in connection with your logo, as that symbol is only appropriate for registered trademarks.
