Questions: I have recently come up with a new invention, do I need a lawyer?

I have contacted united patent research ltd. how do i find out if a scam? they called and said that they are very interested in patenting this product and believe it will be massively produced and globally distributed. What do I need to do? Or who should I call?

Answer: While you do not require a lawyer to patent your invention, it can certainly help if you have not previously filed a patent.

You can check on “patent scams” at the patent office link – http://www.uspto.gov/inventors/scam_prevention/index.jsp
