Question: Should i pay for settlement for copyright infringement and or seek lawyer

I have received a letter in the mail for a settlement from vivid entertainment for a movie file that was shared on bit torrent.com, it seems as though my isp was given by my provider. Information on the internet suggests that i ethier ignore and disavow the notice to avoid being targeted in the future, while other sources say to pay or i will be sued in federal court. The file on paper that is said to be stolen is dated back in oct of 2011,i have also been unemployed for about 10 months now any advice i would be grateful to have.

Answer: I do not believe that you can receive a generic answer that will be very useful to you. I suggest you try to obtain a free consultation from an attorney and then make a decision on whether to pay or fight.
