Search for Others Using My Idea

Question: I need help with a product that I think should be patented. I am in the business planning stages and I want to make a very specific marking tag for a very specific industry. My product is better designed than those out there, made of different materials, and of a different design. I have not been able to find anything similar to it, at least I do not think. How can I be sure?

ANSWER: You can never be sure. It sounds like you already searched Google. Another step you can take to see if your idea is already patented is to conduct a patent search at the US patent office website – http://www.uspto.gov/patents-application-pro…/search-patents
